via “23:23“
This week, I read another short story from LitLatte. Oh boy. Where do I begin?
First, let me start off with what it’s about. “23:23” is a horror short story about a woman who always sees the number 23:23. Everywhere she goes, she see’s it. Plus, she has two twin daughters and a husband, Dave. After she witnesses the twins spitting out their food, she sensed that something was wrong with them.
The story started as a little funny as she mentioned that she kept seeing 23:23 after when she slept at 22:22. There was a dash of shock leading up to the climax and a sense of dread leading to the end of it. It was like a roller coaster of thoughts.
I liked that it revolved around the theme of seeing 23:23 and revealing that it was helpful in a way, which turned the tables around it’s role in the story. And, I liked the twist ending that the girls were…
Anyway, I thought the story was unique in it’s way, which was why I didn’t see anything wrong with it except the unnecessary sex scene in the middle of it.
Anyway, Ell P sold me on another great story. I would always expect twists and humor from her in other stories. Now that I end this, this leaves me wondering that I should venture to other short stories other from the ones from LitLatte. It’s time for a change, meaning that you should let me know other stories I should read by commenting below.
Tune in next time for another post. Goodbye!
